Social Media Coordinator, Temporary

StraCon Services Group, LLC is seeking a Full Time Social Media Coordinator. (Temporary) The Social Media Coordinator will provide support to an integrated communications effort for an office of the US Navy. As part of a team of creative writers and designers, you will help tell the Navy’s story through social media, graphic design, photography, and video. A successful candidate will be creative, fast on their feet, and self-driven. Ideal candidates have previous experience with the Navy or branches of the armed forces.
Essential Job Duties:
  • Create/curate posts for social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn)
  • Monitor owned social media accounts
  • Develop social media strategy to achieve CNSP communications objectives
  • Provide training to ships on social media use and OPSEC and online conduct and the UCMJ
  • Create content plan, write content, or curate posts for WordPress blog
  • Forecast events and upcoming campaigns that require graphics/videos to support and request their creation
  • Create occasional basic graphics and videos
  • Take photos and video of ship's arriving/departing San Diego for use on social media pages and in printed products
  • Engage with relevant influencers/followers
  • Provide inputs on social media for monthly reports internal and external to the organization
  • Brief Prospective Commanding Officers/Prospective Executive Officers on social media best practices and Navy-wide policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Brief Collateral Duty Public Affairs Officers from the fleet's ships on social media
  • Monitor fleet's ships’ social media pages to ensure compliance to social media protocol
  • Curate content for the web team to post regarding ships and other fleet activities
  • Process and release official Navy photos to DVIDS
Travel Requirements:
  • Some local travel required 
Experience Requirements:
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience (experience in a federal government or armed forces setting a plus)
  • Must have a keen eye for style, design, and writing for web
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills with impeccable attention to detail
  • Experience managing social media accounts for a large organization
  •    Excellent written communication and organization skills are required
  •    Experience with the following tools: Microsoft Office, Blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Hootsuite and other such social media platforms is required
Education Requirements:
  • High School or GED
Security Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Minimum Secret clearance required OR must be eligible to apply and be granted interim DoD interim clearance prior to employment.
