Senior System Safety Engineer

StraCon Service Group is searching for Senior System Safety Engineers in Pax River and Beaufort, SC to support NAVAIR and NAWCAD mission priorities of acquiring and sustaining weapons systems in support of the United States Navy (USN) and United States Marine Corps (USMC). This position is contingent upon contract award.

Functional Job Description
Apply demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise including:
  • Development of test and evaluation of Aircraft, weapons systems, or aircraft support equipment
  • Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, and design, develop, implement, test or evaluate military weapons systems.
  • Solving complex R&M or SS problems through the use of R&M or SS probabilistic analysis, modeling, and risk assessment and evaluation.
  • Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
  • Solving complex R&M or SS problems through the use of R&M or SS probabilistic analysis, modeling, and risk assessment and evaluation.
  • Applies engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.
  • Analyzes designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems.
  • Performs tasks with little or no guidance.
Experience Requirements
  • At least ten (10) years of general or practical R&M or System Safety (SS) engineering and technical experience as described in the functional description.
Education Requirements
  • BS or BA degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, electronics, or aeronautics from an accredited college or university.
Security Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Minimum Secret clearance required OR must be eligible to apply and be granted interim DoD interim clearance prior to employment.
Travel Requirements:
  • Some domestic travel required.
